Weekend Recap

Your Mallards spend the weekend down in Coon Rapids, MN for the preseason Blue Ox Invitational!

Game 1 (4-3 Win)

The River started the weekend off right taking down the Red-Black League All-Stars 4-3. Mallard returner Noah Heiderscheid let the offensive attack with 2 goals and newly added goaltender Gage Guay turned away 33 shots to secure the win.

Game 2 (3-2 Loss)

With eyes set on the regular season, the Mallards squared off with division rival Blue Ox. Rum River jumped out to an early lead with a Jared Petty (2 goals vs Blue Ox) goal but were unable to find enjoy offense to tie things up late. Michael Biller stopped 35 shots in the contest.

Game 3 (4-1 Win)

After a tough loss to the MN Blue Ox, The River bounced back in a huge way with a 4 goal morning beating Team Midwest and placing them in position for a shot at the title game. Goaltender Tristan Sucher curbed an early push by TM before the flood gates opened for Cooper Brodzinski and the Mallards attack.

Game 4 (3rd Place Game, 3-2 Win)

After a tie breaker for the championship game, the Mallards found themselves in a battle for 3rd place with the Red-Black All Stars. After not being able to hold onto a 2-0 lead late in the game, Mallards forward Parker Mitchell was able to put home the game winner with 30 seconds remaining on a breakaway. Connor Carroll stood tall stopping 36 shots in the win.
